Bali Firefly BnB is nestled among the rice paddies in the traditional village of Penestanan Kaja. Ubud is a short 20 minute walk away, either by local track or by road.

Our spacious tropical garden, with its lily ponds and flowering plants, ensures a private and peaceful space for each of the three villas. In the distance, across the rice fields, sits the volcano Gunung Agung, Bali's sacred mountain.

Our wonderful pembantu, Kadek, is valued by all of our guests for his kindness, his happy smile and of course the great breakfasts he prepares each day.

We have great links with the local community throughout Bali. As a result we can offer cultural contact outside the normal tourist experiences. These include jungle, rice paddy and bird walks by day as well as evening home visits to learn about local beliefs and culture. These visits include the opportunity to join locals in preparing and eating traditional village food.

You can also simply relax and unwind by the pool.

Penestanan is renowned as a centre for art. There are many nearby galleries displaying and selling the work of local artists. There are also batik making and bead classes available.

Neka Gallery is within walking distance and gives the visitor a wonderful insight into the culture and history of Bali.

The local temples provide ample opportunities to witness the beautiful ceremonies and processions that are an intrinsic part the spiritual life of Bali.

Local walks abound. There are walks through the rice paddies, treks along the Campuan Ridge and many other local hikes set in the unique rich beauty of Bali.

An amazing assortment of restaurants proliferate throughout Penestanan including local warungs with tasty examples of Balinese and Indonesian fare. There are also a range of vegan and vegetarian restaurants boasting menus from different cultures.

Small intimate yoga classes are available within walking distance.

Massages, manicures and pedicures can be arranged on site, or appointments can be made with reputable masseurs.
